The state used to own all the key utilities and transportation, but the short-sighted state sold it to the private sector. The same would no doubt happen if the state owned prime real estate.

I tried to remind my wife of this Hadith while she was angry and furious at me but it only made her angrier and more furious :-(

Makes sense, especially with different countries using different vaccines. Only 2 vaccines are approved by Saudi Arabia as being effective against covid and many Muslims around are vaccinated with other vaccines instead. One more year should give enough time to see if the other vaccines are really preventing Covid from spreading further especially given the constant emergence of new variants.

My friend’s dad got pranked at the US consulate in Pakistan over this. He had submitted his financial records to support a visa application and had been called in for interview. During that, the American interviewer kept stressing repeatedly that submitting false information was a serious offense and kept asking the dad if he wanted to admit to lying in his documents.

Finally the dad asked directly what the issue was, since he was certain everything’s was correct. The interviewer answered that they knew Nawaz Sharif was one of the richest men in Pakistan, and yet my friend’s dad was claiming to have paid far , far more income tax than Nawaz Sharif did.

My friend’s dad began frantically trying to explain how Nawaz is corrupt and hides his wealth - when the interviewer began laughing out loud and said that it’s ok, he understands the situation , and reassured that everything was actually in order and ok. He got his his visa.

Muslims are a vulnerable minority of the Indian population. Even if Pakistan, Bangladesh and India were united there would been more than twice as many Hindus in it as Muslims, leaving Muslims as a minority.

The Nuremberg code has not been accepted into law in any country or at the UN though, so regardless of whether or not it contravenes the code, it would. It be illegal anywhere.

It’s more like a voluntary guideline than a legal rule.

Yeah this is why Pakistan was needed. The country’s founders could see the writing on the wall in colonial India about the dangers that the Hindu extreme right wing would pose to minorities especially Muslims. Already in 1947 that Hindu right-wing struck and murdered Ghandi ji and they have only grown in strength in the 70-odd years since then.

Modern tanks are approaching but have not reached the weight of King Tigers. But still, river crossing is an issue which is why most modern tank armies include bridge laying tanks that can create a bridge strong enough to support the heaviest tanks in the army.

Punjab was split by the British in 1947 with the western half going to Pakistan and the Eastern half to India. So Pakistan has a province called Punjab and India has a state called Punjab.

The Tucano is a two-seat close air support plane, comparing it to a P-51 Mustang is as valid as comparing a Ju-87 Stuka SBC2 Helldiver to a P-51 and asking which would be better at going after drones and planes.

Between the Helldiver and the Super Tucano, The Tucano is nearly 30% faster, can fly 20% higher, climbs nearly twice as fast, carries 10% more payload, but has a much shorter combat range (3 times shorter when loaded).

Minor correction, but the Centurion tank, the first MBT, entered service in the 1940s, not the 1960s

Pakistan doesn’t have the MRNA vaccines available so MRNA videos aren’t relevant.

The free vaccines in Pakistan is the Chinese Sinovac vaccines, which is an inactivated virus vaccines instead of MRNA.

If you pay, you can get the Russian Sputnik vaccine, which is an adenovirus vector vaccine instead of MRNA.

Pakistan currently has no deals to make any MRNA vaccines available to its population.

The combination of mobility, and firepower. Before the MBT concept, you had medium (or cruiser) tanks for general use. They were fast, and had moderately powerful guns.

Armies also had heavy tanks, for carrying their largest anti-tank guns and their heaviest armour. But these were slow.

The MBT combined these roles. It has the mobility of a medium/cruiser tank and the firepower of a heavy tank. What enabled MBTs was improvement in the power of tank engines, which allowed the combination of speed, firepower and protection in one single package.

Nothing wrong with it. Actually these days it’s a graphic reminder to Pakistani politicians of how close we are to catastrophic covid mismanagement - lighting a fire under them to fight the pandemic properly with measures like this.

To be fair to them, the British didn’t want to divide it but we Muslims persuaded them that they wouldn’t leave behind a stable India unless they partitioned it for us.

Yes - It’s the website for the Dawn newspaper that was founded by Pakistan’s founder Mohammed Ali Jinnah in 1941 (6 years before Pakistan) to be the mouthpiece for the Pakistan movement in colonial India. It still Pakistan’s most widely circulated English language newspaper.

Not by population. Almost 50% of the population is in Punjab

1

COMMENT 2d ago

Yeah, plus India is close enough that from Punjab’s capital they can see the Indian flag flying at the border. Mostly because India deliberately built a humongous border flagpole to hoist a giant flag that could be seen for something like 15-20 miles into Pakistan.

You have some immunity, but you can transmit to others still. Transmission chances are lower from vaccinated people than from recovered people.
